I used to think that life was normal when nothing bad was happening. So, negative circumstances were just a break from normality until things could be patched back up. I'm pretty sure that I viewed life as right and wrong, too. When nothing bad was happening, life was right. When bad things happened, life was wrong. In my somewhat older years I've learned what a fallacy this is.
Life is life regardless of its content. What matters is how you respond to it.
In an unrelated note:
I took my future wife to dinner and a movie tonight. It was therapeutic. She is incredible. The Bible talks about a wife of noble character being hard to find. It is true. And I have found one.
With all the insanity that is taking place it was good to turn our phones off and just enjoy each other. We got excited about the wedding again. Wedding talk makes her smile and it was so good to see. She has such a radiant smile.

Ashley Cleveland wrote a song "Life is War" (http://www.newreleasetuesday.com/lyricsdetail.php?lyrics_id=45286 ) based on a John Piper quote (http://propel.mdat.org/2009/05/john-piper-on-prayer-for-missions/). I'm starting to feel the truth of that thought, since my life has been so much of a battle recently. Glad you got some time with you girl, soldier.
