It's got to be a pretty cool thing to bring life into the world. That's what my brother, Ryan the Firefighter, helped a woman do yesterday... twice. She was being transported to UAB to have her twins, when she started going into labor. So right on 280 outside the Summit, Ryan and his adrenaline pumped colleague welcomed the babies into the world in the back of the ambulance. They were both pretty excited that they got to deliver babies and it sounded really cool, but it doesn't bother me that I don't have to cut umbilical cords in my job.
