Sometimes when the job you want and are best suited for doesn't exist, you just have to create it. At least, that's what I had to do. On Thursday I started working in a Client Relations role with A Bryan Photo, the premier lifestyle and wedding photographer in the Southeast. They weren't exactly looking for help and they hadn't really planned on bringing on another employee right now, but I knew that what they were doing was something I had to be a part of.
My goal over the last 6 weeks or so has been to find an opportunity within a remarkable company and I could not be more pumped about the way that ABP fulfills both. Bryan Johnson, the head photographer and founder of the company, has compiled an All-Star roster of guys that are creating a wedding experience for brides that is truly remarkable. The quality of the photographs and products delivered are second to none and maintain a standard of excellence and beauty that makes brides go crazy.
I think those that know me are surprised that I'm entering a world centered around weddings. To be fair, it seems strange to me, too. I mean, it's Saturday morning and I've already spent time reading Southern Wedding Style magazine and there's a copy of Grace Ormonde Wedding Style on the floor waiting to be thumbed through (again). But to me, remarkable changes everything. Remarkable supersedes the 'what' and makes the 'how' a wonderful challenge and a whole lot of fun. They've been doing something remarkable at A Bryan Photo and I'm so excited to be part of it and escalate the experience we offer to a whole new level.

Congrats on the new job! It IS a pretty funny visual thinking of you with your feet propped up, reading wedding magazines. :)
Hi! : ) How are Rach's sunglasses treating you? I think you need to post a few shots of you in them on your blog... which I am so happy to stumble on by the way. Checking my stats and saw your link. It was SO great to meet you last week! I just subscribed to Seth Godin's blog thanks to your recommendation. Looking forward to getting to know all of you more. Have a great week! ~ Lara
I looked at the website. Being an amateur photographer myself and spending years working for a photographer, just to give my opinion, I think you made a right choice. As someone who has spent a LOT of time looking for wedding photographers I'm not sure how this company escaped my research. The style of the photos is more journalistic, not posed, which is the going thing in photography right now...which I'm sure you already know...so I'm stating the obvious. Just wanted you to know that I support you and I think the pictures are fantastic. I would have hired this company if I had the chance again. I'm planning a wedding right now, I'll make sure to recommend you to the bride.
